A Thai worker in Saudi Arabia brought a cutting to his home in Ban Na, Nakornnayok province. So, it was called ‘Pet Ban Na’. Later, the breed was developed and the best plant was called "Siam Crown". There was also another man who brought this breed to his home in Nong Haen, Cha Choeng Sao province. So, it was called ‘Yak Nong Haen’ (Dam Sirichok). Later, it was brought to "Bang Khla", Cha Choeng Sao province, then called ‘Bang Khla’.

With very low natural germination rate and seeds' high stability, Thai Socotranum is the rarest breed in the world. The prices of the seeds, seedlings and other items of this breed are more expensive than other breeds. However, nowadays, there is a cross hand pollination technique that results in more seeds and turns Thai Socotranum into money-making plants.

We have seeds, stems, seedlings, cuttings and grafting of Thai Socotranum for you

Thai-Socotranum usually brings fight to many people in the business.

There are only three groups of upriver Thai-socotranum

  • Mongkut Siam and Pet Ban Na group: They were grown from the same ancestor, have very high stability so the plants grown from seeds have never been renamed.
  • Bang Khla and Khao Hin Son group: : They were grown from the same ancestor, have very high stability but Bang Khla has diverse characteristics; therefore, Bang Khla plants grown from seeds have got such many names as Mongkut Thong, Mongkut Pet, Chada Pet, Pet Phranakorn, Pet Kanchana, Pet Sothorn, etc.
  • S1 group: from our professional experience, S1 is believed to be a descendant of Bang Khla because when we grow Bang Khla seeds, we usually get S1. However, there is another story of S1 saying that it was imported. S1s grown from seeds show diverse characteristics so they have been named as Rakang Thong, Rakang Pet and others.

Midriver and river-mouth Thai Socotranum comes from upstream Thai Socotranum. They usually cause fight among those in business.

Our main products are upstream Thai Socotranum while midriver and river-mouth get secondary priority.

Paisit Farm's moral lesson is the Romance of the Three Kingdoms ( 三國演義 ),

"Older Brother kills Younger Brother" chapter,
After Cao Cao (曹操) passed away, Cao Pi, Cao Cao's son, (曹丕) succeeded to the throne. He planned to kill his younger brother to ensure him of the throne. His brother's name was Cao Zhi ( 曹植 ) who was more preferred by Cao Cao than him. Cao Zhi was a talent poet. He was called Cao Zhi one poem in seven steps. Cao Pi created a condition that if Cao Zhi could not create a poem in seven steps, he would be killed. However, Cao Zhi could create a poem, so he was not killed and the two brothers loved each other again.

Real Socotranum was originally found in souther Arab, mostly found in Socotranum island in Yemen. It was reported to be found as high as 6 meters and the caudex's round line was 2.5 meters long.

The cuttings of real Socotranum in Socotra island were prohibited by the government of Yemen. However, the seeds of real Socotranum were not. Therefore, there are many farms both in Europe and United States employing the locals to collect the seeds for them. They later found out that the plants grown from seeds had a very slow growth rate and not as beautiful as the originals.

There are only the real fans of real Socotranum that collect and plant them in the form of cleft grafting (with the best cleft grown from seeds) or seedlings.
